Summa Cum Laude
°æ·Â In the summer of 2017, after my first year of college, I volunteered at a local pre-school and aftercare facility called iLearn Academy. While South Florida is a community in which many children come from non-English speaking households, they must still incorporate to a public-school system that only uses English to teach all subjects. Thus, they are enrolled in a program called English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). In the aftercare facility, which was ran by bi-lingual teachers, I volunteered during lessons focused on helping children between the ages of four and ten improve their English language skills outside of the ESOL hours.
That summer, I assisted and learned from teachers in preparing their lesson plans, and I helped young children with one-on-one tutoring on their English lessons. Additionally, I organized events to motivate the kids to learn English. These events included movie watch-parties and book readings, which encouraged them to use the English language in a more casual context. Occasionally, I supervised children when they were in the playground or during lunch time. My summer at iLearn Academy eventually inspired me to become a teacher. Back then, I did not know I would consider this career path, but now I truly value the time I spent working with young children there.
More informally, I also spent many hours tutoring my peers that were part of the ESOL program in high school. ESOL required students to achieve a passing score in an English proficiency exam in order to exit the program and be able to take other rigorous classes. One of my extra-curricular activities in high school was to tutor these students to specifically prepare them for the exam, and many of those peers obtained satisfactory results. I observed and understood many needs of language-learners during this time
ÀÚ±â¼Ò°³ 1- My name is Camila, I am 22 years old and I have a degree in Political Science. However, I am very passionate about teaching English, especially to young kids who are so impressionable and have so much to learn.

2- I do not have any visible piercings, tattoos, or medical conditions.

3- The most important factors for me are location and working environment. I highly prefer the Seoul metro area, but would consider Busan as well. For ages, I prefer elementary-aged children.

4- The best time to reach me by phone is the evening in EST (8PM to 11PM EST).
