how much do I pay out of pocket for medical Insurance
Health Insurance for English Teachers in Korea

Your employer will enroll you in the Korean Medical Insurance Union. The cost of the deduction will vary depending on the chosen health insurance company by your employer, however, you can expect it to cost around 30-40 USD a month for the teacher. When you receive treatment at a hospital, you pay 30% of the cost of treatment, and the rest (if covered) is paid by the National Health Insurance Corporation.

Korea requires that foreign workers join the country's medical insurance system, and a certain amount is taken out of their wages every month as insurance payments.
