Dear Ms. Bertelsen,
1) Adult teaching positions require split shifts. Usually the schedule is 6am-10am and then 6pm-10pm. You would be teaching business men/women that usually take English classes before and after their work, and usually require Saturday work. Most teachers find this type of schedule difficult and get burned out. Also, the tuition fee is lower than for younger students, which reflects on your compensation as well.
* We recommend teaching highly academic middle school or HS students instead, which is usually an afternoon/evening shift. For example 2pm-10pm which will leave your morning open.
2) The adjustment period may vary for every school- usually what is recommended is that you arrive Thursday/Friday and start training/teaching on Monday. This will allow you to recover from jet lag and get yourself situated with your new apt.
Thank you.
