I have a DUI charge on my criminal background report. It has been dismissed but not expunged. Basically it shows that I took classes for it and that it has been dismissed.It took place about 3 years ago. I actually was able to get a teaching job in Korea before even with the DUI on my record. I ended up having to write a letter stating that I will not drink and drive.

I just wanted to make sure again this time, because I heard that usually they will be ok with just a DUI charge on the criminal record. I know it's probably something that might affect the hiring process and visa process. But I heard that they will usually let the DUI charge slide as long as that's the only thing on the record. Is that true?
