1. In my classroom, vocabulary acquisition is paramount. Students are familiarized with high-frequency vocabulary from the first class to help create the foundation for communication and complex grammar development. Students learn that assessment is a necessary checkup to see where they stand to improve with instructor-guided assistance and encouragement or to strive to learn and help their classmates. My students are aware that their second language acquisition journey mirrors my journey in understanding their primary language. This is an area that requires support and practice on my part to ensure that my students all gain the maximum from me because they are reminded every day that I support them and I will always help them within reason.
