Çз University of the Free State, BSc Microbiology and food Science

International Open Academy, TESOL Certificate 120 Hours online
°æ·Â During my period as an Executive Committee member for
the Student Representative Council (SRC) portfolio Active Civic Teaching (ACT) at the University of the Free State, one of our main goals among members were to share a talent or skill within and around campus. Among tutoring Microbiology to first years and second years, I¡¯ve also achieved teaching kids in neighboring schools to grow a vegetable garden and to build a compost bin.
ÀÚ±â¼Ò°³ My Name is Ditebogo Modutle, I'm a graduate from the University of the Free State with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Food Science There was a pivotal moment in my education that deepened my preexisting curiosity for Asia.
In 2017 after completing my Bachelor of Science extended programme, I took Food Science as one of my majors, and that¡¯s where I learned the science behind food and packaging, but what really captivated my mind was the science behind Asian cuisine. Growing up my only influence of Asian culture was through anime, video games, technology, movies and dramas which sparked my initial curiosity but throughout this course and my personal research I began to grow an even greater appreciation for Asian community-oriented society and the importance of a meal , which is how Korea stood for me. Teaching has always been on my achievement list. I've strive to learn about the various issues students may face while learning English. Through my TESOL certificate and my previous high school and primary studies of a national foreign language being Afrikaans, I aim to engage with students in the level of understanding not just as a teacher teaching a foreign language but as a student learning a foreign language. Furthermore, tutoring and volunteer work has been a personal growth that I¡¯m immensely proud of. During 2019 I took up a short tutoring course that was made available at the university and began to tutor till 2020, through alternating days of 6 hours a week my goal was for first and second years to grasp with the pace and overall understanding of the content in a fun and interactive way. This is when I knew that teaching can be a possible career for me and I'm excited to take this path. South Korea will definitely be a new experience in my life which I am prepared to be part of. To offer my services to the best of my abilities and be excellent at what I do. I want to represent my country very well while learning a new culture filled
with very vibrant individuals. Make lifelong friends and offer teaching lessons that offer the South Korean learners an excellent opportunity to understand and make use of an English language. In their daily lives whether in schooling, work, meeting or in conversations.
I am fully aware and acknowledge that there is a huge culture difference between South Korea and South Africa. I know tattoos are considered taboo in the country and having tattoos myself, I know especially for educators and it is my duty to keep mine covered at all times to show respect to the Korean culture.
I'm a very active and friendly person who loves listening and making music as a hobby and a very strong willed individual who can overcome a lot of things when i put my mind to it.
I do not have any particular preference besides the market salary, Housing and location, Capital city Seoul or any neighboring city
