Received a half scholarship to go study and play sports in the USA in a small town known as Kutztown. I was studying Sports Management and thus was about to approach my third year, However a devastating injury forced me to return home to South Africa.

Head soccer coach of the u15 A team – I had the responsibility of checking in every morning before training with the Head Coach of the High School to inform on my training for the day. I was responsible for orchestrating my own practices and ensuring that team sheets were done before and after game day and tournaments. We had a stellar season only losing twice in our entire season and coming second in the Regional school tournament. I had to however, end my coaching as I was going to study Sports Management in the USA.

I was a physical education coach who was required to coach physical education to kids from the ages of 2-14. The teachings required me to engage in physical activities with the kids, create lesson plans and exercises, and to ensure kids learned how to do certain activities which help them increase their gross-motor ability and various other skills.

I was responsible for tutoring three students and ensuring that they were up to date and even ahead of their work curriculum at their schools. I would also make sure they were tested to make sure they understood their work and give them extra worksheets to assist in their ability to understand and comprehend the work they were doing. FOLEY ASSISTANT AT SOUND SURFERS AUDIO PRODUCTION (JHB, SA)

I was a Foley assistant working on a South African production titled ¡®Trackers. My duties included collecting gear and props needed for each scene as well as participating in doing some foley. I also had to sit in on spotting sessions which prepared us for the props needed for the next episodes. This production featured on HBO and is an IMDb certified series.

MATHEMATICS & ENGLISH TEACHER • GWANGJU, SOUTH KOREA
Singapore International Learning Center, Gwangju
AUGUST 2021 – CURRENT
I am currently a Mathematics, Science and English teacher at the Singapore International Learning Centre in Gwangju.
My duties involve preparing materials and homework activities for all my classes including my Grade 5 form class; I am also responsible for making sure I keep a detailed record of their attendance and homework assignments given to them by their various teachers, as well as updating their parents in the Kakao chat group of their daily homework. I have to frequently assist struggling students during my homeroom time and help them with their homework.
With regards to Mathematics, Science and English teaching – I teach Grade 1 and Grade 7 Mathematics in the English language. My duties for those classes are to always prepare lesson plans for the month and to make sure I find extra worksheets to assist struggling students. After every unit I am required to design a unit test to test the students¡¯ knowledge on the work learnt throughout the unit.
I also teach an after school program called ¡®Smart Kids¡¯ for small children who are still in pre-school. This class consist of 4 students. I teach them about how to calibrate a robot known as the ¡®True True Robot¡¯; I also teach them how to use a 3D pen and show them how to draw various images using the pen; Another task that I am responsible for doing is teaching them how to operate a flying drone and teaching them the essential skills of operating a flying drone.
Another afterschool program includes Lego robotics which consist of 7 grade 1 students – this class entails creation of Lego and incorporating coding into the Lego through software.
The last afterschool program is an Electronics class to 3 grade 3 students - that incorporates learning how to build and construct electronically operated systems.

As a progressive professional with group and individual instruction experience, I believe that I can bring valuable contributions to your team. Most importantly as an enthusiastic individual this opportunity not only allows for the growth and nurturing of the minds of young students but also for myself to learn to grow in an environment that is built on establishing future leaders.
Identifying innovative approaches and improved solutions to teaching and learning challenges both motivate and drive me. Observation, inspiration, and determination are my foundation for success. My philosophy is that introducing fresh perspectives and new techniques allow classrooms to evolve and grow. My goal is to ensure students grow in an environment that stems from cultivating their need for educational growth and more so ensuring children are getting an education that not only stems from personal accomplishments but also from an idea that they can consistently seek to become better and improve every day.

Formerly in my Tutor/Teaching role, my successes have stemmed from essential skills, including tutoring and lesson planning. I have enhanced my critical thinking abilities and cultivated a reputation as a major contributor through problem-solving and time-management. I am a collaborative team player who is always searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights. With these qualities, I am able to facilitate positive change and impacting outcomes.
