Simply put, my role as a teacher extends back to 2004. I have worked in other countries but South Korea makes up the majority of my experience. While I have worked with all target age groups, my preference is no younger than 7 years old (Korean age) , through grade 6. My personality and approach to teaching , seem to correlate quite well with this age range.
In regards to teaching methodology, I do tend to give favor to the Communicative/Lexical approach, as it is highly flexible and serves as a wide umbrella to incorporate different ideas/methods/subjects while still being able to generate actual learning in a way that promotes pragmatic communication skills....and a bit of fun. I'm happy to share my ideas and experience on the matter, should you wish to gain a better understanding. |
