I am a highly motivated and committed individual who can work individually and also within a group context and believe that I will be able to handle the key responsibilities allocated to me. In 2016, I finished with my second year of teaching English as a foreign language in Incheon, South Korea. During my first year I stayed in Miryang, teaching elementary, middle school and some high school classes at a private academy (hagwon). After South Korea I taught English to Lower Secondary students (elementary) at a few different public schools in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam. I enjoy teaching English as a foreign language, but I have learned that it can be a challenging task. On a personal level I learned that a lot of patience and understanding is needed in working with people with a cultural background different to that of your own. However, I feel that my studies have equipped and enlightened me to understand the importance of individual tolerance and mutual respect, not only just within my own cultural framework or mindset, but also in turn respecting the ideas, values and customs of cultures foreign to that of my own.
I've got no visible piercings or body art and no major medical problems or conditions. I prefer a day job (9am-5pm). No work on weekends. Working environment with a few other westerners also working at the school/company. Age level: elementary, middle school, university or adults.
I can be reached any time during the daytime on phone or can arrange a skype call: ianvanvuuren2
Kind regards,
Ian |
